Numerous other structure fires have been investigated, including
3 fatality cases, to rule out electric utility involvement

7/06, Valentine, Nebraska.
A wildland fire burned 3,500 acres and many residences and other
structures in Valentine, Nebraska. The fire was allegedly caused
by an electric coop line. Litigation was filed.

1/06, Ringgold, Texas.
A wildland fire burned 20,000 acres and much of the town in Ringgold,
Texas. The fire was allegedly caused by a TXU Electric Utility line.
Resulting suits filed and damage claims were resolved in mediation.

11/96, Davenport, WA.
Ice Storm caused branches to bring down power line, which energized
adjacent home water meter & plumbing pipes, resulting in fire,
and extensive damage. Case was settled in mediation.

1/95, Grangeville, ID.
Employees cleaning chimney on roof of building when power line contacted
with handle of cleaning brush. One employee died of burn injuries.
Suit filed. Defense cost settlement reached in mediation, after
accident reconstruction video shown to Plaintiff's Counsel.

8/93, Spokane, WA.
Passengers in car received serious injuries including a leg amputation,
when driver hit power pole. Suit filed, but later dismissed without
payment by WWP.

8/93, Spokane, WA.
College student riding bicycle home from work at night in the rain,
ran into WWP transmission pole, received serious brain injuries.
$2 Million plus law suit filed, withdrawn later with no payment
by WWP.

10/92, Lewiston, ID.
Contractor for mill, contacted energized power line, thought to
be de-energized. Serious burn injuries. Suit filed. WWP dismissed
with no payments.

4/91, Spokane area.
Private uninsured tree trimmer cut tree into power line, energizing
fence, fatally injuring owner. Defense cost settlement reached with
estate.

6/90, Nine Mile Falls, WA.
Passenger in power boat seriously injured when outboard motor hit
stump near boat ramp. Water way and ramp were built by WWP. Suit
filed against two defendants. WWP resolved this case in 1999 during
mediation, after discrepancies in Plaintiffs work loss claim were
discovered.

3/90, Spokane area.
Car hit pole fatality. Suit filed against two defendants. WWP dismissed
from suit with no payments.

7/89, Orofino, ID.
Cable TV man received secondary voltage from TV cable, fell from
bucket of truck. Serious fall injuries. Suit filed against two defendants,
and WWP dismissed from suit, with no payments.

8/89, Pullman, WA.
Roofer contacted power line, fell, seriously hurt with burns &
fall injuries. Suit filed against three defendants. WWP (Avista)
dismissed from suit with no payments made.
